Kingsburg (Second Edition)
90m - 120m
2 - 5 Players
Ages 10+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Danzo
An okay game, but not very exciting. The dice placement mechanism was interesting, but the rest of the game (mostly resource collection/conversion) is very samey throughout and as a result felt like it was dragging in the second half. The only interaction is competing for dice placements.

Really enjoying the simplicity AND satisfying strategy of this game. Also, impressive variability. We have not even played all of the possible variants yet and really enjoy it. Would be glad to play over and over, just with the few variants we've tried. Can't wait to see how the others work!

*8* (Initial plays) Kingsburg, the classic gateway game. This version is perfect for everyone. There is enough content in the box to adjust the gameplay to whatever you like. I do like the Second Edition more than the original. Everything is in one box, the graphics are great, and it has some additional modules that work well.
