Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Really enjoying the simplicity AND satisfying strategy of this game. Also, impressive variability. We have not even played all of the possible variants yet and really enjoy it. Would be glad to play over and over, just with the few variants we've tried. Can't wait to see how the others work!

I really enjoy this game! I like dice placement games a lot and I like the variety this one adds. My main complaint about the game is there aren't many hidden points at all and going into the last round, you usually have an idea of who is going to win... especially if there is already a huge lead. It doesn't come to any surprise and sometimes feels like it isn't worth finishing knowing who is already going to win. I think more hidden points need to be in the game or each player should have hidden objectives or something to avoid this problem.

Love all the modules that came with the second edition. Haven't got to play any of them yet but the base game was pretty fun. It didn't feel like we were city building but just focussing on gaining powers. Who won the game came down to a dice roll so that's probably a fitting ending. I didn't like how you could see who is going to win half way through if you have a clear winner due to no end game scoring. Secret objectives or something else would be a nice touch. Instead I had to focus on getting as many points as possible the last two rounds rather then building the city and getting effects that could help.
