Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Best game in the genre. This entry should be combined with the original game, since this is basically a new edition, not a new game.

Initial Impression: I've played the original Kemet and this was a much better overall experience. The production for this version of the game is through the roof. I particularly love the creature minis and pyramids. The player aids are very handy. The game trays made set up and teardown quick and painless. The game is better than I remembered it. Each faction is racing to get points by engaging in battles and controlling areas. As such, battles don't feel personal. You don't feel the need to exact revenge on the player who just beat your army. Instead, you're constantly looking for ways to generate points. My favorite part of the game are the technologies. With so many to choose from, I just want to try them all in every combination possible. This is a game that I'm very tempted to add to my collection.

A great rules-light combat and area control focused dudes on a map game! The tech is clean and clear and easy to prepare for with the tech-"brochures". One of my main cons is that the rulebook is a little bit too light. It should should have gotten 1 more page where it described every piece like the veteran tokens (which I had to assume where the beetle tokens as it was displayed in the night phase without mentioning that "this is the veteran tokens". Another thing is that most tech has some pretty boring effects like straight up 1 VP, 1 more attack during your attack or defence, 1 more prayer point, 1 discount etc.. I guess it's ok as most of these are cheap tech, but for such a short game I rather prefer the "tech tiles" in Cthulhu Wars as they are often more fun to play around with.
