Rating based on Solo play only. Punishing but quick, with great art. Feels a bit random at first, but starting to see the opportunities for control/mitigation.

Dayum, this game is tough. I like the core gameplay loop of this, even though I feel like I have little control over the overall outcome. I played solo and even though I can plan a few cards myself, the random cards from the outcome deck escalates things very fast. Also, how do make dinosaurs make sense in this world? Is that something the comics explain?

A smart mechanic looking for a full game. You move down a row, card by card losing and gaining resources. When all three characters (aka resource bags) die from not having a resource, you lose. That's the good stuff. Everything else in the system is a mess. Egregiously, the rule book reads like you've played Lost Expeditions first and made a lot of assumptions without walking through a turn or explaining the flow of the game at all. The location system is barely explained with cards coming out with rules you can't achieve depending on when they come out and it's not clear how location cards are flipped or stay out or what. We did our best, but there are too many games out there to waste on an unfinished system.
