Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

An abstract area control game where you play cards on your turn to build tents to claim an area or totems to have the majority between two adjacent areas. Each turn you play cards to build in one area and then draw your hand back up to 3 so it's very simple but you do feel very stuck based on the cards in the display (you can play any 2 cards as a wild though). Towards the end I felt like I was stuck taking the cards that were there and couldn't do too much with them so the game sort of petered out towards the end. The good news is Iwari plays quick and it's one I'm happy to play on BGA as the rules are easy to learn and the turns are fast.

Another solid reimplantation of a classic - production values are high, but I think that the maps in Han are better. Han also benefits from easier readability - but I could easily see people liking Iwari more, since it is just such a fantastic looking/feeling game. Nearly all the maps in this version feel scaled for 3-4 players, and play well at that count. I would not suggest Iwari at 2 or 5 - the maps don't feel correct for it, and the 'blocking' mechanic doesn't really feel like enough.
