Hunted: Wode Ridge by @barrettpublishing is a solo push your luck game where you play as a team of kids with their alien friend as they explore their town to discover what entity is accosting it this time! In the game, you’ll draw from the deck, Rest, or Hide. Most of the time, you’ll draw from the deck, taking the bottom card and placing it into the Hunted row. You can then activate any of the cards in the Hunted row if you have the icons necessary. As most cards do provide these icons, you’ll have to decide wisely which cards to activate and which cards to use for icons. You can also use icons from items and allies that you find, and from your main Team When activated, these cards will give a reward which can be items, icons, but mainly Evidence cards. You’ll want to collect evidence cards to place on the dedicated board as when the board is complete, you’ll unlock the Boss battle. The small puzzle you have to play in order to place the Evidence correctly is simple and does not distract from the main game. In order to defeat the Boss, you’ll have to get the right icons before you run out of time or health, which will win you the game! We found the basic gameplay of Wode Ridge to be interesting with the push your luck mechanism. As some cards give “Noise” symbols that will activate a Trouble card when revealed, it is always tense drawing another card. When a Trouble card activates, it can be an enemy that you have to defeat with the right icons from cards or a dice roll, or even a Portal card that will take you to the “Other Side” that will have even worse enemies to fight However, we do have to say that the high luck factor can be incredibly frustrating at times if your draws keep giving you bad icons and your dice rolls don’t give you the icons you need. The Adventure Book also gives a nice narrative snippet but it’s not meant to provide a robust story leaving some players disappointed If you enjoy solo games where you are fighting against what luck throws at you, Hunted: Wode Ridge provides a fun and quick experience that may just be your cup of tea! A very fresh take on the Hunted Formula. Had fun playing it. Similar to the other Hunted games, it seems that you pretty much know you're about to lose once you have like 5 or 6 points of the Timer left, and still need some Evidence. The Adventure Book is a very nice addition. Gives you a sort of mini quest where you are given a choice based off the total points of Evidence in a Column and the current location you are at.

Rated after five plays. Takes what is great about the first two smaller boxes and adds some really cool mechanics making for a tight, thematic enjoyable game in 30-40 min. Big thumbs up.
