I'm a fan of the other Hunted games. This one was so fun to play! There is so much to do. I really enjoyed the characters and allies along with the items you can acquire. The evidence board is interesting and adds a new element of completing the game. I miss the scoring element from previous Hunted games.

This was my first journey into the Hunted series. Unfortunately the journey was off to a slow start as the game took over 2 years to find its way into my hands (I don’t believe a slow Kickstarter warrants a negative review, so rest assured this review is based on the gameplay not the delivery date). Sure my excitement had waned after 2 years, but I’m still human and get excited for new games. I struggled with the rule book a bit, but figured it would all become clear once the game was set up. It was still a bit muddy. After two plays I still have questions I can’t find answers to. And maybe I’m just missing something…but to me the rulebook seems lacking and disjointed. But a difficult or poor rulebook can be overlooked with intriguing gameplay. Unfortunately I found myself flipping cards that didn’t combo together, until I flipped cards which made me flip over negative Trouble cards and lose time (running out of time means you lose the game). And then it happened again. And again. I got to the point that I was laughing (the frustrated kind, not the happy kind) at my luck of drawing a set of cards that didn’t work together over and over. And when I did get the right cards I’d flip over a differnt type of card, evidence cards. These evidence cards must match adjacent cards to “fit into place.” I had set the cards up with an 80ish percent chance of any card working…and the cards I flipped didn’t work. So I couldn’t flip the right cards, and when I finally did I was able to flip more cards…which weren’t the right cards. And eventually the game ended. And that about sums up the game for me. I’m not saying I played everything perfectly or that after 2 games I know the perfect strategy. But I do know that no matter how good I get, I’m going to get terrible combinations of card flips and lose the game. And I don’t mind losing a solo game, but I’d rather have a bit more say and influence on if I win or lose. I think it would take some powerful persuasion (and maybe someone telling me I’ve been playing the game wrong) to convince me to spend another hour flipping cards hoping that the cards flip in an order that will let me flip more cards in an order to let me win the game. Caveat: I’m not a big time solo gamer. Marvel Champions didn’t do it for me. Hunted didn’t do it for me. It appears more puzzly tile laying solo games may be more up my alley.
