Horrified: Greek Monsters
60m - 60m
1 - 5 Players
Ages 10+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver

I like Horrified and Mythology, so this game hits two of my interests. As a fan of Greek Mythology, however, I take issue with the fact that the stalworth Greek heroes, such as Hyppolyta, Atalanta, Jason and Orion, are easily killed and need to be saved by the generic Mariner, Actor and out-of-place punk rock Hoplite. The designers should have allowed the players to run the heroes and turn the generic characters into the villagers (or Legends as they are called in this game). I like the game and the variety of new ways to defeat the various monsters, and the addition of Lairs adds some more depth to the game. In game play, the fact that I am running a generic character is pretty much lost, but I still have to wonder, "why?" In the end, I enjoy that game very much but would have liked this detail adjusted.

Very poor production quality and even worse rules. Definitely needed more time to cook and refine. Otherwise it is horrified, and if they get a clean faq out, a compelling entry in the series

My least favorite of the three games, which is unfortunate because I'm probably most interested in Greek mythology. The issue is that they're not scary monsters so I feel no tension when playing. I've already beaten Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
