Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Games that use the Memory mechanic require players to recall previous game events or information in order to reach an objective.
Memory
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

Hadara is obviously somewhat derivative of 7 Wonders: it is an abstract civilization building game based on drafting. What is most interesting is the drafting method. There are 5 different spheres of cards, and during each era there are two phases: at first the players draft among couples of cards drawn from the then in the second phase they draft from discard piles. This clever system has both advantages and drawbacks: it scales very well at different player counts, but at the same time the interaction seem less direct. In a sentence, this is the gamer’s 7 Wonders. But not too involved to go too much outside the non-gamer’s comfort zone.

I have only played this game once and it blew me away. Hadara is a easy game to teach with a lot meat in it. This game can go higher when I get it to the table again. This game is a fantastic solo game. https://www.hans-im-glueck.de/spiele/hadara.html

I enjoyed it but it seems overall pretty bland. I’m not one to complain about a pasted theme but this is the very definition of it. Maybe I’m missing something about what makes this game compelling.
