Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

For a tile laying game this is quite strategic. The tile laying has many of the elements I like. It has adjacency bonuses (Spawlopolis) line of sight (like Crows or Limes) size constraints (like or Warsaw city in ruins) and area size/multiple areas bonuses (like Kingdomino) . Just need tile overlaying and it would be prefect!

A pretty cool mostly-solo puzzler, with the addition of a tile drafting mechanism that requires you to plan a little more and pay attention to what other players are doing. It adds a little bit of player interaction to what would otherwise be a solitaire exercise, but we found that most of the interaction was more of an accidental type of interaction, where you went after something that it turned out someone else wanted. I really enjoy these types of puzzle games though, and this is a really nice one! I probably would have even rated this even higher, but honestly, the lack of nice artwork and graphic design really did take away from the clarity of what's going on, and the overall enjoyment of the game. I wish it had been more professionally done in that regard, but I still think the the game is very nice.

Cute tile-laying game with some interesting decisions in scoring and movement. Some planning is required as you puzzle out which tiles you'll take in which order, but your plans often change when new tiles come in (there is a not small degree of luck in this regard). I wish the game was scaled better for lower player counts, with a more even distribution of landscape types, because with such a large stack, it may become difficult to place new tiles if a certain landscape doesn't appear. Overall, a good game, but not amazing.
