Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

I can't think of a thing that I don't like about this game. It's the perfect length. It's a fun puzzle. It's almost always more beneficial to concentrate on my own park rather than trying to mess with my opponents'.
Born-of-Ashes
This version makes my rating go down just a bit, mostly due to fiddly components. The side goals are nice in theory, but don’t have as much impact as focusing on animals. The art is better, but the bag is too small as well as the box. With the animal meeples I cant close the lid anymore. This whining about boxes having “too much air” inside is making companies overcompensate to the point where the box can’t even hold the game. Otherwise the game is still a quick and engaging spatial puzzle in the “city building” genre but with a more interesting theme.

A nice spatial puzzle of building a zoo through tile placement with an interesting tile draft mechanic where while you draft from a central grid and you can only get the tiles on the front and either side of your meeple and not the one at your feet. However, if you're at the edge of the tile grid that further limits your options so you want to try and stay near the middle. The animal tiles have a scoring condition based on the other tiles adjacent to it along with a few other tiles that score differently along with some end of round objectives. It's quick to learn and can present some interesting decisions but there are a number of other tile placement games I'd choose over this including Isle of Skye, Barenpark, or Kingdomino.
