Co-operative play encourages or requires players to work together to beat the game.
Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances
Partnerships
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

January 2018 arrival with expansion? Duel is meh. Well made, just not entirely my bag. I hope the co-op adventure is better. Excellent art, and the 3rd edition rules are available online. This is the ruleset to use. Fourth Edition rules with Northern Territory expansion. After a solo campaign session, here's where I'm at ... ... Art and Atmosphere are excellent. Pacing is great. Difficulty level seems about right (should be less nasty with some help from another player). Some kinks in the rules here and there, but the designer is available to help with questions. The game takes up a lot of space, and all the card manipulation takes up a lot of time. Another player or two would really help move things along in this area. I'd rather spend my time making decisions and battling instead of combining decks and shuffling so often. Pain in the ass. Gotta pick up where I left off in THE VALLEY OF DEATH. ????

Awful customer service, very rude and unhelpful. I backed the game for the VIP files, and when I didn't receive my pledge, I emailed them only to be told off and get sent the wrong files.

Beautiful artwork and I really wanted to like this, but it is not a very good game. Have been wanting to play through the story to at least get my money's worth, but there always seems to be something which is nicer to play.
