Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

I have trouble getting this to the table; haven't found the right group. My kids 9 and 11 are intimidated by it despite being good at math and push your luck.

This is a very interesting and unique game. You really have to think strategically from a number of different ways - how far forward are you alphabetically, how close are people on both sides of you, and is it likely that you'll go forwards or backwards while playing a particular card? There's a definite deduction point in play, and it can be very difficult, but always worth the fun.

There is absolutely a game here, but I'm not sure how deep. However, it's unique and fun and VERY quick to teach.
