Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.
Take That
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Similar to Othello in the ability to replace other player's seeds. The 13 base is really big for two players. You start to run out of seeds near the top.

A great strong point of this game is the rulebook. The rulebook is only 4 pages long yet hidden within is an enthralling tactical joust. Easy to learn hard to master was never so true as you try to outmanouvre your opponent. The long version can be, well, long. So far it feels to me as if the short version is the better choice as the long version makes it overstay its welcome. All in all a good tactial puzzle.

We really like it, but it’s tricky to play if you’re not sitting at the base of the ziggurat (pyramid). We kept having to get up and look at it from the base each time we took a turn when playing more than a two=player game.
