This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.

Hard not to make comparisons to Ticket to Ride. I prefer this one as you always seem to be moving forward and a bit more thinky without any more rules overhead.

Version revisitée des aventuriers du rails. Et c’est clairement mieux et plus stratégique ! Bravo Friedmann !!!
Andy Parsons
Friese takes track building from Trans America/Trans Europa (two sections per turn, only one if crossing water or mountains). Then there are routes to complete. Unlike Ticket to Ride, crossing the continent scores no better than a short hop across the Balkans. Indeed, completing routes quickly is one of the keys to the game. Efficient use of time is nearly everything. Another key is money, with every coin counting 3 vp at the end (compared to 5 vp for a destination visited once). Money must be paid to the owner of any section of track you use to complete a route. At the very end of the game, players who stop operating their railway gain a coin from the supply every turn. Being the last player active, with a lengthy route to complete, really hurts. A couple of quibbles. The first is with the fickle turn of the route cards. They can drop a nice short route into your lap or leave you with only long and costly options. The second is that the game runs quite long for its rinse and repeat of laying track and running routes. I found the artwork, especially the use of period photos on the route cards and board quite pleasing. Having said that, the map and cards could have been more helpful to those less familiar with European geography. Production quality is good.
