This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.

It works well, even with 5 players, the interaction and competitiveness between players is high, and it is appreciated that the way to score is simple.
Jabbergeist
A good game that is basically ruined by the graphic design. It's so obnoxious to constantly squint at all the similar-looking cards in the display and search for their counterparts on the board to figure out what routes are available. This could have easily been alleviated by some simple regional color-coding like in Trans Europa, but I guess Friese's "everything is green" brand has to come before everything- including ease of play.

1 play / 5 players (3h playtime all new) LIKE: The game has a very good game-space evolution for such a small ruleset. I like how the game starts as building out a bunch of owned routes, and then at some point, routes are cleared up and players rush to take advantage of the cleared routes. It's a great balance attempting to figure out where opportunity lies, spending money versus laying track. I like how there seemed to always be a good selection of destinations, and attempting to combo them. DISLIKE: Major production / design flaw, having to search the board for the cities. Terrible. A proper designer needs to fix that issue. We used cubes and that fixed the problem for us. The player turn marker needs a stand. Game is very long at 5 players, but not terrible. There is some luck in when revealing new destination cards. At 5 players we ran out of track. OVERALL: Good, solid game. I enjoy cube train games. I don't know about longevity, as the ruleset is slim and player interaction is medium. It is a little deeper than Ticket to Ride. I have not tried Ride the Rails. Similar games: Steam, Iberian Gauge (paying for use of other routes), Ticket To Ride.
