Falls into a weird in-between zone in terms of weight, but I enjoyed it. Probably should be for more older kids than they were targeting but whatever. Keeping it because its a good light spectacle game.

Thematically very accurate. You spend energies to either move, collect plaster, pick up bones, or dig (different amount of energy required for stone, clay, and sand tiles). Interesting when picking up bones, you need to have enough plaster to pick them up depending on size (femur 3, big skull 6 plasters). Also while digging, you get some resources like gem, gold, or antique. Afterwards, you may spend these resources to buy tools (or not), or acquire new skills. Then place the bones you collected on certain dinosaur species you have in the lab. Interesting thing is that you don't have to collect ALL the bones listed on a species, you can sell partial completed dinosaur species to get points. Of course if you completed all the bones needed for a dinosaur you get bonus. The game has multi-layer planning and there is a little bit of dexterity like pushing tiles and picking up bones. The only bones I have with the game (pun!) is that there are many tiny components and can look overwhelming.

A really great game. As someone who dabbles in paleontology I really appreciated someone actually trying to simulate digging. I think they actually did a decent job too. They have instructions for simplifying it for kids and going with the full game for adults. Simply put, if you or your kids like dinosaurs this fame is a must.
