Fort: Cats & Dogs Expansion
Expansion of:
Fort
20m - 40m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 10+
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Want to add more chaos to Fort and increase the play time? Add Cats & Dogs. First, dogs really increase the time to draft using advanced rules because there is so much text in the cards. Second, they really seem to dilute your deck, with actions that sometimes need to be boosted, sometimes depend on your Fort and/or cards in your Lookout. It's just a hodge podge that doesn't integrate as well as the base game actions. Third, you only get points for the most (or tied for most) dogs, so you could easily end up losing out on 7 points at the last minute and be unable to respond. I didn't care for the Dogs. Cats on the other hand are sort of like Perks that travel around and keeping tabs on them is pretty easy. They are also worth points at the end, but the more you have the more you earn. I would include Cats if you want to spice the bar game up a bit, Dogs only if you really want a long game that is more swingy. This expansion isn't necessary nor does it improve the base game.

This expansion brings two different modules that can be added separately. Dogs will be played almost as kids, cats will be played almost as a made up rule that can help you in the game or scoring at the end.

A great addition to an already fantastic game. Opens it up for more scoring opportunities and strategies, adding extra complexity, depth and thought to each turn.
