Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

This game does a number of things, but doesn't do many of them well. Not a great drafting game, not really a train game at all. The rules are not informed by the theme at all. I'm ok if I've played this for my last time.

Initial rating based on A&B modules only. The fact it comes with 3 more modules to mix and match is a major plus (assuming they're just as good as A/B). Very much Russian Railroads with card drafting instead of worker placement. If you like/love RR, you should feel similarly with First Class.

First Class feels like Russian Railroads the card game and works pretty darn well. There's nothing groundbreaking about it, but a solid game. There are a bunch of action cards each round (for 6 rounds) and each player chooses an action at a time until 3 are done and that's the end of the round. Manage your two trains by adding train cars, upgrading train cars, moving conductors, adding to your train route and moving your train to get bonuses at the end of every other round. I'd happily play this again, but I don't need to play it again.
