Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Last game I was unimpressed. Played a few times now and I haven't had the greatest time. Play just feels a bit... boring. Lacking some good flair.

I have played twice as the Central Powers and have achieved a relatively early victory each time. I am going to try as the Entente next time to try to discover how you win with the French. Besides what appears to be an early war imbalance in favour of the CP, this is a very enjoyable game, with a nice mix of complexity and playability. I particularly like the concept used for the Eastern Front and Strategic Naval Warfare - nicely abstracted and very effective way of portraying those portions of the war.

I had the opportunity to sit down and playtest this with Kurt a couple of years ago and even then was impressed with the elegance of the design.
