Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.

Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

Excellent thematisation of the feudal and religious titles, excellent voting mechanics. All ruined by an exceedingly swingy event deck, dice rolls and strategy killing cards, which end up leaving negotiation meaningless. Things change too quickly and are way too unreliable to invest in an alliance reliably or to negotiate something. You just have to run along for the show - which would be ok - but the game is pretty heavy and begs for better negotiation incentives

Jeu pour 4 et plus. A éviter à 3. Jeu d'occupation, de stratégie, d'affrontements et de négociation, avec de nombreuses alliances possibles. Surtout un jeu documenté et pédagogique sur l'histoire de France. Un must have. Règles faites

The first game was really fun. Maybe because of the group of people I played with, may because of the game itself, with funny ideas like marriage between the lords and having new allies to win the game.
