Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.

I really like the concept of the game. I really wanted to love Evacuation because I thought that the split worlds would make the gameplay interesting. However, the whole thing with leaving the planet and playing on two sides turned out to be very tiresome. I don't find it fun at all because all we do is place colored tokens on the map and watch the production tracks go up. I don't feel like I'm settling on a new planet at all. After each game, I honestly wonder if I would have been better off staying on Earth with my shelf of old games. Final verdict: Evacuation makes a quick evacuation from my collection. Pros The concept of two worlds(Anyone watched Fringe?) Transportation by Ships Advanced Cards Asymmetrical Technologies Cons Where is the insert? Poor quality of components Colors Solitaire solo Constantly counting production in the old world Tiring gameplay No feeling of colonizing a planet

Fantastic game. Lots of different elements pulled together into something that feels new. My son who loves terraforming Mars loves it. Though it is a very different game...

unfortunately a very brilliant concept was turned into an almost solitary game. Nonetheless a pleasant game to play.
