Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Akado
Was an interesting game and had a lot going on for being pretty easy to explain. Felt like there was a lot of blind drawing (randomness) but the game played fast enough that I didn't mind. Would play again, but is not something I plan on owning due to having games I like at least as much.

Always question authority. After watching reviews from SU&SD and Tom Vassel and as someone who really like TtR I was expecting great game. It turned out, this is one of the dullest boardgames I've ever played. Don't listen to people who say that this is better than Ticket to Ride. I played different versions of TtR multiple times and I loved every single game of it. Ethnos bored me to death. My wife hated it too. I will never play it again. Also, probably the ugliest boardgame I have ever seen.

I was hoping for a Ticket to Ride-ish area control game, but this is very very random, even considering that it's a set collection card game. This is partly due to the way the deck works, which forces blind draws; and partly due to the high value of bands, which promotes hoarding strategies. These are extremely effective if you're lucky, and terrible if you are not.
