Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

A really impressive demonstration of the strengths of modularity in systems design. It’s really interesting how all of the different roles and scenarios come together and the game is very compelling. I’m not the biggest fan of the consecutive die worker placement mechanic, but I didn’t find it too restrictive. It just always really takes me out of a game. But the game is super solid, would recommend.

Very good cooperative game where players must manage the survival of an animal species while influencing benefactors to win the game. Nice components and asymmetrical decks for each role that players can take. My only complaint is that the game ends too fast at 5 and you don't really have the time to appreciate the differences between the decks. Definitely a game I want to revisit!

Endangered is an amazing game! The theme is important and has been excellently integrated into the game mechanics. It's always challenging without becoming frustrating. The alpha leader problem cannot come into play here either, since everyone has their own hand of cards here. And with the numerous scenarios from the expansion, there is a high degree of variability and a high level of replay appeal. Whether as a solo game or in groups, for me the best cooperative game next to Spirit Island. It's a shame it hasn't been discovered by that many yet, because it definitely deserves more attention.
