Dungeon Ball is a 2 player football themed game where you play as a team of monsters as you attempt to score the most points in a game of American football! At the start of each down, the defense will try to guess what play the offense will make, with a correct guess being rewarded with a momentum token and decreasing the number of dice the offense rolls, while an incorrect guess rewards the offense with extra dice. Once that happens, the offense then rolls their dice, trying to get the number of symbols needed to advance the ball down the field in order to score a touchdown before the end of the 4th down. As you can see, the gist of the game does follow the rules of American football pretty closely, with touchdowns, field goals, and two-point conversions. As such, your enjoyment of the game and the understanding of the rules may be subject to how much you are interested in the actual sport. But it is a pretty good representation of the game, especially the mind games that happen when you’re trying to guess your opponent’s play! There are also special cards that each team has to change up the game, allowing you to cheat or bribe the referee though they are limited but they add in just a bit more thrill to the game! The game does have quite a bit of luck with the dice rolls that left us a little bummed at times since we did go through half of the game with no one scoring a touchdown due to bad rolls. But if you’re looking for a game that has mind games, dice rolls, and exciting card plays, all wrapped up in an American football box, this is the game for you! cited from https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc0VSOsJz2Y/

Was exactly what I hoped -- fast, easy to play, captures the essence of gridiron football, and feels like the old-school football video games I used to play as a kid. Can't wait to take this with me when I go home to visit my family and friends and take turns playing while hanging out with everyone. Highly recommend listening to Board Game Design Lab episode where Gabe talks about the design and development of the game. https://boardgamedesignlab.com/the-making-of-dungeon-ball-with-gabe-barrett/
Awkers
Good light fun football game, small amount of strategy, when to bring in cards etc. Simple rule set very back and forth. Nice rouch with the dexterity field goal and extra point try.
