Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Tried on BGA. Maybe you need to play it in real life with the chunky tiles, but I did not have fun. There was no arc at all, ending was anticlimactic. I won, but did not feel like a satisfying victory. Because you can only pick tiles on the top, options are relative limited and non of them feel like they really matter. This effect is strengthened by the fact that you not really can block your opponent, and neither can they, making every option for picking the blocks equally meaningless.

I wouldn't mind learning and playing true Mahjongg, but until that day, I'll be delighted to build castles in Dragon Castle, using mechanics that the '90s computer games of "Mahjongg" featured. Terrific theme and irresistibly tactile pieces, and just-enough strategy to make this a fun, quick 45-minutes puzzle. And the resulting mini-castles are wonderful to admire at game's end.
