Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Not so enjoyable for solo play. Very long setup, too much to read each round, could be more streamlined (e.g. some VP are given instantly, some at game end, but same icon). Bonuses that let you looking through full stacks should be forbidden in the world of boardgames, it just ain't fun and takes too long. Here theres more than one of them. The solo challenge is deep and enjoyable once understood. This is the part I like most. Look to not oversee the last goal as you have to build up for it. Will play if in mood or multiplayer.

I quite liked it. I found it fun and engaging and I liked the mechanism for distilling at the end of every round. There is a lot to take in on first play - but not as much as some euros. I like the theme, though some of the iconography was a little small.

Played a friends Copy and glad I didn’t buy it. Not that it’s a bad game, only not one I see pulling down right away
