Surprisingly I really liked this! I have replayability concerns so rating might go down, but this was a fun dinosaur island experience that I really liked.

March 2023 - 6 - 2 plays (both at 2 player) + Dice drafting, worker placement with a roll & write aspect is pretty unique + Different buildings and specialists drive slightly different strategies each play = Dice drafting is typically something I really enjoy, but here for whatever reason I don't really care about what my opponent takes, can generally make something happen with whatever I have available to choose from. Usually only one die everyone would like which goes to first player then it just plays out without much interaction. = Write aspect is just okay, kind of fun planning out the paths and making sure everything fits, but there is so much space rarely are constrained on building what you want. - Tour aspect could be a bit more thematic. Not sure how going to a t-shirt stall is just as exciting as seeing a T-Rex. And why because you did a tour last season that saw a specific dino the guests this year are bored by it and don't get excited. - So many of the dice faces are DNA, hardly need to take the DNA action space - No real difference in dinosaur types. Takes different DNA colors, but just use what you already have and don't worry about making T-Rex vs Spinosarus. Now I haven't played all the Specialists or Buildings yet so maybe there are some that care about which dinos you build, but it is kind of a shame the game at this point doesn't make any distinction between them.

One of the better Euros in roll and write form that I’ve played. Maybe one of the heavier ones as well, but this isn’t a problem. I really dig this game and I think it replaces the original for me, with much of the same theme and minimal setup. Very happy to have this.
