Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Simple filler. Have to play some more to uncover possible strategies. It has luck inside (it‘s a dice game) but it plays fast so that‘s ok. Very stylish look.

Simple area control/action selection game. Fun theme, excellent art. I love the double-layered boards though it does kinda make the art on the main board look a bit worse.

Dicetopia is a light area control style game that is quick to play. I just got this recently from Kickstarter and have been playing it with my girlfriend. I enjoy that, while light, it does have some choices to it on whether you're manipulating the dice on your board, your opponents board, or the game board, and likewise with the players worker locations, so it's possible to pull of some clever twists with shifting them from dominating a section to not, or ceding an area but denying them points by giving them a bad die in the area instead of a good one. This makes a good opener / closer game for a game night, or if you have more people a good early middle game to play. It has a small footprint so it also has some possibility of being a good game to play at a hotel if you're done for the night of doing stuff and want to play something before crashing. I'm looking forward to playing this more and the expansion when it comes out later this year.
