Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Akado
A neat game with plenty of options. Kind of a point salad, and would be interesting to see if a dominant strategy emerges. Would play again, but wouldn't need to own.

Remarkably dull dice bag building civilization-esq type of game. Of the 4 of us that played, none of us were really impressed by the game. It was just boring from start to finish. It doesn't do anything particularly well apart from instilling boredom.

Very good game. 4 ways to end the game, which gives interesting possibilities. The game is highly strategic, the dice do not introduce randomness, but only stimulate thinking. A game with interesting interaction, dynamic, economic, strategic, with a sense of civilization development. Very pleasant.
