Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Like a deck builder, but sometimes the die face you spent resources never comes up. Not my sort of game. Only played online which removed the tactile fun of physically building my own dice.

This is definitely a casual game but tons of player interaction since you roll on each players turn. It's entirely luck driven but it's really fun when you put new faces on the dice and roll big combos. You can win just by rolling points throughout the game or you can try and build a bigger card strategy. Variability comes pretty much only from dice rolls because there are not a lot of cards. I picked up the expansion but haven't played it yet. I really think the extra cards will pay off in the long run by making each game different. I don't think there is anything deep here but for a gateway level game the art, compoments, and insert are off the charts. An ITC puller works for removing die faces so we leave that centrally located which makes swapping faces a breeze. Resetting the dice at the end and put them all back in the tray is a little annoying since the game plays so fast but in the end its still worth the experience of playing and all that rolling.

Quick clever fun. I love it! It's art is great and the storage surpassed only by Wasteland Express. Okay, so it turns out I was taught poorly the first time. Now that I've played with upgraded (correct rules) I love it even more.
