Great new Mac Gerdts game, my favorite of his after Navegador. Update, having played it again: The game can feel a little rushed. Ships come out fast (potentially), it's difficult to plan much in advance. The design-your-own-VP player board is also not quite as interesting as in Navegador: In CO you have three columns that function exactly the same, whereas in Navegador all the columns felt unique, and tiles for all columns had to be collected in very different ways. A couple of players complained that the cost to jump ahead on the rondel - one contract - seemed low, basically allowing you to do so every turn where you don't place any ships, and they would have preferred a more restrictive rondel system. Still, an enjoyable game, one I enjoy.

Played Essen 2021: more streamlined evolution from the first edition. Early days but the path to victory seems to be to concentrate on one ship colour and the corresponding player board column. Spend contracts on Trading Houses.

So, if i understood it correctly, thanks to all beta-tester of Transatlantic I. (This time truly with a worldmap... or maybe not, who knows.)
