Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Once you decipher the rulebook and figure this game out it is a quality game. Gameplay feels a little short.

Terrible rulebook and think that the intro game is simplistic, but really comes together with the full rules! I know it's sacrilege but will take this over Maracaibo any day.

I only suggest playing this solo. There is a good game here, it's about resource conversion, and push your luck. It has some fun sense of adventure going through the map. But at the same time the game is pretty swingy: if you draw good cards that combo well, you win, if you draw non compatible ones, you loose. In particular, not drawing cards with guns makes you loose pretty fast. I manages to go through the campaign, but i was a bit annoyed at the end. Also the scoring is excruciatingly hard. Only do this if you're a Pfister fan. Otherwise pass.
