Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

The consesus in our house is that it is almost as good as Lords of Waterdeep. The luck factor is interestingan can be mitigated by careful planning (even though sometimes things go awfully wrong), we missed the 5-6 players possibility, but that problem is already solved as the kickstarter for the expansions got funded (already backed:) ). It is basically a worker placement with management of the scarce resources, money can be a problem (or the lack of it,as in real life) but an intelligent spot on the board allows for trading goods and money on a one-to-one ratio, really clever in my opinion.

2 plays / 3,4 players LIKE: Light game, but nice use of dice as fighters. A few buildings are randomized, so each game can be a tad different. Fun vikings theme, which helps move this game up. DISLIKE: Rulebook isn't great. The appendix is small type and yet it explains a lot of details about the worker placements. Hidden goal cards create some mystery. The character cards are not balanced, but not a huge issue. Replayability is lacking a bit. OVERALL: Solid game and killing monsters is fun. Does feel light. Feels *very* similar to Stone Age, but Stone Age is better.
