The map is long and feels like ages you can start reaching the other end and access colonies, but the encounters with aliens are very fun, kind of like the crossroad system in Dead of Winter. Gaining access to ice covered planets and fighting off pirates seem way too difficult and can only be achieved in the later stages of the game where these are the least of concern.

An evolution of Catan that changes up the formula in really inventive ways and will even appeal to seasoned board gamers who've moved on from Catan. Players must still contend with the randomization of dice rolls, but this method of resource gathering has much less weight and is instead replaced with many more opportunities for decision making.
