Castles of Mad King Ludwig
In the tile-laying game Castles of Mad King Ludwig, players are tasked with building an amazing, extravagant castle for King Ludwig II of Bavaria…one room at a time. Each player acts as a building contractor who is adding rooms to the castle he’s building while also selling his services to other players.

Not really for trade just a parts copy. Severely damaged Box. Missing one tile. Replaced with a home made one.

A spiritual successor to Suburbia. It comes with similar tile placement mechanics: certain tiles will interact with other tiles (especially when placed directly beside each other). The Master Builder sets the price for the available rooms, making it a game of guessing how much your opponents are willing to pay! Great game.

Throwing secret objectives into the mix makes price setting a bit spicier but, man is the castle building bland. Why do designers go out of their way to make sure price setting games have an uninspired boring shell? Godamnit, can Feld PLEASE make a price setting game????. I know HE would combine it with something cool. Please please stop wasting one of the best mechanisms of all time. Still gets a high rating cuz price setting is the bomb. Even my grandmother loves it. After contemplation, i have made my peace with the castle building aspect of this game. The reason why is that soooooo many of these spatial puzzle games have you placing squares. Squares. Squares and no other shapes. At least Alspach tried to do something different. Honestly, he was close to something genius here.
