Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.
Trading
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

It's just not that interesting. In a lot of ways it feels like you're just going through the motions and hoping for favorable card flips. But the decisions didn't seem that hard and there didn't seem to be a lot of room for better and worse moves. But my biggest issue is just that it's the kind of game where there's blocking and interaction that's both pretty impactful and also completely accidental. There's generally speaking not enough information to have a good feel for what anyone else's goals are at any given point, and you need to do enough specific things that you're often just playing your own game. But then maybe it just so happens that my best action makes the one you wanted much weaker and more expensive and at the same time gives a big boost to someone else. I like interaction in games, but it has to be a deliberate decision that a player makes, when it just happens by accident that my actions hurt you more than anyone else I really dislike that, because it feels pretty random.

Man, can a game be worse than this? Totally themeless, horrendously punishing, with subpar components and a non-insignificant element of luck. I won't probably give it another try.

This game is just missing some spark. I like a lot of what it does but I know some players were frustrated in a bad way at some of the elements. So this doesn't get played more and I think it needs more plays to fully enjoy it.
