Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

Call to Adventure w/ Name of the Wind Expansion & Playmat Enjoyable game. Felt fairly random, but I think has a lot to like for a gateway game. The way the story forms is definitely entertaining. Casting ruins is a lot of fun too. There is a bit of strategy, but it's all very straightforward and relaxed. I just wish there was a little more meat to it, but if you're playing with folks who can get into the story of it, it can be fun. I'd be reluctant to play it with a 'serious' group, because it isn't crunchy enough to make it fun with a group that doesn't get into it.
