Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

John Weber
Rating based on a dozen plays thus far, including four or five using solo mode. This game has rapidly become a surprise hit for me, could be the best game of 2023 (halfway through the year as I write this). Usually I am attracted to new games because of the theme (not the mechanics) but this game is an exception for me: engine building through adding pages to the three "books of time" is the key innovative mechanism. Key elements are the objective tiles and the three tracks which can set up one for significant endgame points. The tricky part is to balance the urge to score points during the game versus setting up for endgame scoring. And, with the Chronicle book acting as the timer for the game, the pressure is on to maximize the efficiency of one's actions, all while adjusting to the random curve ball (or opportunity) that the Chronicle events throw at the player each and every round. Highly recommended, and this game deserves the same kind of attention as the recent top "hotness" hits like Ark Nova, Dune Imperium and Earth.
Greenosaur
This is a fun game. Setup is kind of long and also put away. I wish it did more than 4 players, but I have only played it at 3. I think it is challenging enough to give a little AP, but easy enough a moderate gamer can play.
Jabbergeist
I was really hyped about this, but it's a real disappointment. It's a struggle to get anything done in this game. Every substantial action takes like 2 or 3 turns of prep work.
