Bloodborne: The Card Game
30m - 45m
2 - 5 Players
Ages 14+
Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection

Neat if you expect a quick-playing, high randomness game with not-uncommon elements of take that. No point in long-term strategy, as the game is over in 10-15 rounds and turn order is incredibly important in making your decisions. There are definitely meaningful choices (knowing who took take that cards and when they're likely to play them), but the randomness generally reduces the impact of it. I'd play again, but would not need to own. I'm not sure about the replay value, as the deck of weapons didn't seem to have a lot of variety and it seems like it would become same-y after a few plays.

This is a great cut throat card game of pretending to cooperate only to back out and let your friend die. Or maybe youre the one who stays in and you best the enemy all by yourself and score all the points. I wish it played at 2 players since I think I'd get it to table more. I also cant wait for the expansion since I think its big weakness is lack of variety on weapons, enemies and bosses.
