Bloodborne: The Card Game
30m - 45m
2 - 5 Players
Ages 14+
Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Surprisingly deep, certainly deeper than the premise makes it appear. People don't die very often, though maybe there was not enough pushing of luck.

Great combo of Co-op and competitive play. Co-operation is strongly encouraged to prevent monsters from running away, but it is also in your best interest to betray your opponents. Some of the upgrade cards are way more useful than others, but even the ones that I normally perceive as low-tier have been used by others to great success.

Not my favorite. The game is ok, but to go with that the art is dark, the theme is dark and loose, and my motivation as a player is to find something else to play.
