Bargain Quest: Solo Mode
Expansion of:
Bargain Quest
30m - 60m
1 - 5 Players
Ages 8+
This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.
Auction/Bidding
Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Barely functions, one of the worst solo modes I have ever played. Rulebook is incomplete and unclear, I had to make a lot of assumptions from setup to ending.

Mid range difficulty to learn, mid range time-wise, amazing art, I want to get this out on the table more. Auto include

Forgot to enter this when I played back in August. This is my favorite of the KS bonus mini expansions for BQ. The solo mode is very simple to implement. It is a 2 player game with a deck of cards simulating the 2nd player. The deck gives hearts to lure in adventurers, what kind of adventurers they are trying to obtain and how much money their display is worth. Each player gets 2 heroes per round. During the monster phase, the AI does 1 damage to the big bad. Then, they lose of their 2 drafted heroes at random. Rinse and repeat. Get a rating based on how much gold you acquire. This was super fun for me. Most everyone else I introduced BQ to didn't really like it as nearly as much as I did. So, having a solo mode that I play through relatively quickly is a big plus.
