Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

Agyar
Pleasant enough but nothing compelling, easily recommendable to players of lighter fare and likely a good one to play with younger folk.

Bärenpark is a light family / gateway Tetris tile laying game by Phil Walker-Harding (Imhotep, Gizmos, Sushi-Go!) with set-collection and a race for the limited tiles and achievements. What makes it special? * Multiple races to score victory points between all players * Limited tile selection that depends on the previous covered up symbols Pros: + Artwork (detailed, cute, colorful) + Components (a lot of different shaped Tetris tiles, main boards) + Different achievements each game to score victory points (variability, replayability) + Multiple races to score victory points among all players (achievements, set-collection, fill out your park, get the Tetris tiles that score the highest points, build bear statues) + Race for Tetris tiles: there are multiple stacks of Tetris tiles to choose from. The top tiles are worth more points than the tiles at the bottom of the stack (race). + Tetris tile selection: depending on what symbol you covered on your board with a Tetris tile, you are allowed to pick new Tetris tiles from different areas of the main board (limited choice) + Satisfying "filling your park" puzzle: covering symbols on your player board, extending the park with up to 3 additional boards + Scales well with all player counts + Easy to teach and learn (family / gateway game) + Well written rules (a small typo in the German rules: http://lookout-spiele.de/wp-content/uploads/Baerenpark_Korrektur_V2.pdf) Neutrals: # Despite the cute theme, it is an abstract game # Language independent # Indirect player interaction: gain limited Tetris tiles, Bear statues, achievements before other players Cons: - Set-up the Tetris tiles takes some time - Questionable Japanese park Similar games: * Gingerbread House (tile laying game by building upwards (3D) with thick tiles) * Patchwork * Cottage Garden
