The central puzzle of taking pieces is pretty satisfying, but the challenge of building on your board is, for me, ho-hum. It's a good game, but gets very samey for me personally. Great potential for annoyance if you get up in people's business and try to disrupt their plans. Regardless, it's a superb gateway game, and since I've gotten rid of Century: Spice Road I kind of feel the obligation to keep this one around as a really nice ease-in to the world of hobby gaming :) I'd love to see a five-player expansion, because I often have more than four when I'm pitching an easy, gateway-style game. Pretty good. Very nice looking. Does not live up to the hype (unless I'm playing wrong) I'd rather play other games of like type.

7/22: Still enjoy this game. Elegant, fun, tactile, strategic. 1/18: Great, elegant game with simple rules but plenty of depth. A true pleasure of an abstract game with gorgeous, pleasing components. I also have the joker tiles and I am eager to give them a try. It was a must-have from the first runthrough I saw and after three plays, I'm happy to say my initial impression was correct. The length is perfect; the game ends at just the right time. Potential future 10.
