Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

An expansion that doesn't add too much, but the new decision space that it adds is very interesting. For me is an expansion that I will merge all the time with the base game.

It is a good expansion but It doesn't change the game a lot even if there are new mechanics. It improves the game but not much, the base game didn't need this expansion to be a great game. I was looking forward to the asymmetric action cards but most of them just have "nice to have" effects. That said, if you love the base game, like I do, you will enjoy this expansion because it adds more content to a game you love which is always enjoyable. If you don't like the base game or just think it is an "ok game" then this expansion will not change your mind.

Brilliant expansion; solves a couple of minor flaws from the OG, including the ability to cull cards from the massive deck. Upgraded action selection cards are also fantastic. Adds a nice level of asymmetry without imbalancing the game.
