Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Todo el mundo habla super bien de este juego.. lastima que es solo para 2. Pero a ver como es. Comprado en Santuario Games el 01/03/2020 por 44,60€

Pretty clever in areas, and the characters are all interesting in their specializations. I'd be a lot more enthusiastic about the game if Shadespire didn't exist, though--although Aristeia's dice system is far superior, the element of trying to game out who the underdog is is a little unsatisfying and the deckbuilding is vastly inferior.

This is actually rather slick in that you have a hex map and don't measure anything which removes a series of constraints and motions that you go through with traditional minis games. It plays as a hybrid miniatures game (using concepts as cover, line of sight, etc) but there is no measuring distances and "are they hidden" is objectively measurable, not subjective. It plays ridiculously fast too. I think we spent about an hour and the final couple of rounds once I had gotten comfortable, leads me to think that a pair of folks who really knew what they were doing could bang out a game in 45min. The Overwatch/TF2/CTF style of gameplay that works on objectives (with this one being a king of the hill style "get into the center area and hold it like for as long as possible") works well for the time duration. I was impressed and would totally play again. In some regards, this is the closest I've come to saying "yeah, this is what I want a CTF game to sort of resemble." Initial outlook is a rating of 7/10.
