Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Future brutal sports game with special powers, card play and dice rolling. It's pretty good fun. I started painting the miniatures then moved house and never picked up the painting project again which has created a barrier around getting the game to the table again. I'd like to rectify that, I'm not ready to give up on this one yet. 2024 update - nearly 6 years later I have finished painting the miniatures and looking forward to playing this again! < April 2018

After one play I really enjoyed it. It felt a lot like Warhammer Underworlds, less tight but way more accessible. The characters all felt unique and interesting with more of a focus on movement and 'pushing' than out and out murder. The theme is fun and accessible. Definitely a keeper in my eyes, just hope I can convince more people to try it.

I really liked this arena skirmish game. the goal is to get more VP than your opponent. The game is about outmaneuvering the opposition to the VP spaces. However it is also a fighting game, and fraging the enemy will help. I like this duality, and the fact that it is not just a shooting game. This add an extra layer of tactics and interest. fragged charachters reenter play on the following round. Another good point is that the game use custom dice to resolve action and you have some leeway on how to use the dice you rolled, either increasin your action effect or activating specials. It is playable in 60 min and the game is fast paced and fun. Tactic cards add another element of variety. If you are familiar with minatures or cards games you should have no problem. If you are more in euro gaming this is still approachable but there is a learining curve especially you should get used to the precise wording and timing issues. Everything is about using your various characters skills to win as a team. There is certainly more luck than a game like Dungeon Twister, but overall there are a lot of room for smart play. And the game is fun to play Note that the regular version comes with plastic minis which are adequate for a boardgame, and a collector edition has metal minis, which have a much finer castup to the high Corvus Belli Infinity standard.
