Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

If played as a standalone, this is way less elegant than the original Air Land and Sea, which was such a quick yet strategic experience... But boy, combine the two and it becomes so much better than the original one! Just add one between Spies, Lies and Supplies to the base game, and watch it take its full potential!

Epic mode to 7 points is the way to go. Now it does feel like a complete game rather than a filler. This is likely the game that "inspired" Marvel Snap. It is much better competitively, but I see the Marvel version also has a few upsides when compared, namely the mana progression (well, maybe).

This is a clever game, and slightly more interesting to me than the original. However, it doesn’t thrill me, and this type of game vaguely annoys my partner. My favorite aspect is the judgement as to when it is best to retreat. However, this is also a feature of Blue Moon, a game I find overall more satisfying.
