Age of Rome: English Version (Kickstarter – Senator Pledge)
60m - 90m
1 - 4 Players
Ages 14+
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.
Take That
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Best game of the Spiel 23 fair so far. A lazy susan used in a medium heavy civ game. I think being made by greeks it has a thematic amount of Roman backstabbery. The game just flows, and the provinces develop while you try to reap the maximum edge.

The game really shines through this phenomenal idea of a rotating board, giving you a lot of challenges, opportunities, and need for ahead simple planning. it is a very slick design. Emperor all in pledge

I was lucky as both the designers took their time to spend 4 hours in TTS to explain the game to me. What i love about the game: - many many ways to achieve victory. you can try setcollection, area majority, build a temple... - highly to anticipate turnstructure as there is no luck at all in the game - extremly modular gameboard. you construct a board with your players that look different everytime you play the game! - you do not play the complete time on the quarter of the empire you start. the board keeps turning so you have to carefully plan your moves. great - extremly high interation with players as you can plan schemes against them... and they can try to prevent them by their own playstyle. this game i a blast. expect more - exspecially a complete preview on our youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBDevtWQi-SfzdQ8pEUNXhw
