Take That
Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.
Voting
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Just didn't work well for our table of three. I was initially quite curious about the game and thought the combination of mechanisms would be interesting but this didn't prove to be the case for us. Our game finished in three rounds, likely helped by the fact that the inventions in the first round ended up being free to play due to the event. The big points come from the three tech tracks and you definitely need to be competitive there because most other scoring is a lot a work for 1-2 points. Seemed odd to have to pay so much stuff to draw an experiment and then have to pay again as much for 1-2 points at the end of the game. The first two rounds of this one, I also had a fair bit of downtime as the others had tools or inventions that gave them back switches. The worker placement was minimally effective as we chose to close out inventors on the board pretty quickly - perhaps if we'd play again we'd play differently but I don't think we'll find out. There can be a fair bit of combo chaining and engine building if the players allow it to develop as such. There are a few inventions which also will steal stuff from other players if they are lower on the initiative track so be aware and act accordingly.

Some nice elements, but as a whole it feels very underdeveloped. Rules really needed a re-write. And icons were clearly not designed with being read from opposite side of the table in mind.

Fun to play and extremely balanced which is amazing considering the amount of content and mechanics. Winning is based on managing your resources and available actions well, no element of luck or lucky draws can turn the tables here. You have lots of actions to choose from in your turn and different ways to accumulate victory points, giving you more than one way to build your strategy or correct misplays. There are also ways to interact with other players or hinder their strategy (like steal their resources or tiles, retire their scientists, etc) which makes it much more enjoyable! Once you get the hang of it with a couple of playthroughs you can improve your strategy too as you discover different combos, leaving you with a highly replayable game. 10/10 for me!
